How Does It Work for Providers?
As a healthcare provider, you’ll guide your patients through a simple, non-invasive process with the Allurion Gastric Balloon. Your patient will swallow the Allurion Balloon encapsulated in a capsule under your supervision—no anesthesia or endoscopy required. Once the Balloon reaches the stomach, it is inflated and its placement is confirmed with a quick x-ray, allowing your patient to continue their day within just 15 minutes.
To support your patients throughout their journey, they will be equipped with the Allurion Connected Scale, and App. These tools will provide continuous monitoring and insights, ensuring that you can offer tailored guidance and support.
What Happens to the Allurion Balloon?
Throughout the Balloon journey, you and your healthcare team will work closely with your patients to focus on their relationship with food, set realistic goals, and provide essential education. This collaborative approach aims to help your patients achieve optimal weight-loss results and prepare them for long-term weight maintenance after the Balloon naturally deflates and passes through the digestive system, typically around 16 weeks later.
By incorporating the Allurion Gastric Balloon into your practice, you can offer your patients an effective, supportive pathway to achieving their weight-loss goals, all while maintaining the highest standards of care.

Steps 1
Simply swallow a capsule containing the deflated balloon, attached to a thin tube.
99.9% of patients are able to swallow the capsule.
Steps 2
A first X-ray is done to ensure the capsule is placed correctly in your stomach.
Steps 3
The doctor uses the catheter to fill the balloon with 550ml of water.
Steps 4
A second X-ray is done to ensure the balloon is filled correctly.
Steps 5
The catheter is gently removed and the placement is complete.
Once your doctor ensures you are comfortable, you may head home.
